Woman Emails Boss About Quitting Using ChatGPT
The woman’s gratitude for the chance to cooperate with the team was also mentioned in the draught email.
A lady created a “professional” email to her supervisor about leaving her job using the chatbot ChatGPT, which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI). According to a report by the Independent, Mari used ChatGPT and posted about it on TikTok, where it has gathered more than nine million views.
I cannot stay depressed and destitute for another month, the woman chuckled as she read from the AI-generated message, according to the source. She claimed to have informed her supervisor that she was prepared to serve her two-week notice period, but he is requesting that she stay on until June 8.
She resorted to ChatGPT for assistance in responding to her supervisor with a prompt requesting the AI bot to construct a statement “pretty much saying I can’t be sad and poor for another month” in a “professional” manner.
In the video, she said, “So I’m gonna have ChatGPT write an email response of me pretty much saying I can’t be sad and poor for another month in a professional way,” according to the Independent. I entered my manager’s email in quotes and the suggestion, “Write a professional email saying I can’t be sad and poor for another month,” and this is what it returned.
Mari then read the reply the AI chatbot had produced: “Thank you for your email and for informing me that my last day of work will be on Saturday, May 6,” the sender said. Additionally, Mari thanked the team for the opportunity to work with them and stated that she was sorry she would not be able to “extend her time beyond this date” in the draught email.
According to the New York Post, the lady solicited feedback from hundreds of her followers before sending the email. Numerous users commended the woman and even gave advice on how to improve the “sad and poor” part. According to the Post, one user commented, “Change sad and poor to: due to my financial and emotional priorities.”
Another person said, “I need to prioritize my financial and mental health.”
Mari then admitted to her followers that she had not actually sent the email and had ChatGPT modify it so that it sounded “more humane” to her boss.
